Frozen Citrus Sangria

The time has come, the walrus said, to talk of many things: Of shoes and ships – and sealing wax – of cabbages and kings.’ That line runs through my head EVERY TIME I begin writing a new blog post. It wants to be heard, gosh darn-it! Though I may not have cabbages and kings in this post, I do want to talk of a many other things. Let’s talk of pools, of blenders, of freezing wine, and of spiking said wine. Let’s talk of citrus, of fun, and of a special slushy version of “mom juice” just for my one-piece bathing suit soul sisters out there. We’re going to talk of Frozen White Citrus Sangria.

What’s in it? Is it easy? Is it delicious?

Let’s get right to it, my friend.

Frozen Citrus Sangria

Frozen Citrus Sangria

This Frozen White Citrus Sangria calls for white wine (that we “froze” in ice cube trays), of 3 kinds of citrus juice, and of a touch of vodka (because why the heck not?). Is it easy? You can bet your one-piece swimsuit-covered hiney it is! I don’t want to follow complicated recipes, so I don’t write complicated recipes. Is it delicious? Though I want YOU to be the real judge of that, I did find it quite tasty. In fact, I’ve found myself daydreaming of when I can make it again (and again).

Note about freezing the wine: I found in my freezer that the wine got to a solid slushy state. This is great! Pop those almost ice cubes in a blender with the rest of the ingredients, whirl, pour in a glass, and enjoy.

This is IDEAL POOLSIDE SIPPING. I’m a little bit in love with this recipe and I hope you enjoy it, too!
