Friends! You ready for an exciting update?!

I’m launching a new series and making new friends.

The new series is titled, “Paleo off the Menu.”

I’ll be touring a plethora of restaurant genres (highlighting a few of my favorites) to provide you with tips and tricks to help you successfully navigate the various menus. In no time, you’ll be a confident authority on dining-out while following a Paleo lifestyle.

Oh, by the way …this is a VIDEO series. Isn’t that the neatest? I finally get to introduce myself. So long words and pictures. So long!

…okay that was dramatic. I love you words and pictures. I always will.

For my first episode, I’m featuring one of my favorite contemporary Italian restaurants in the San Antonio area, Paesanos. Their gorgeous ambiance, thoughtful menu, and tasty food was the perfect launching pad for this exciting new adventure.

Who’s my new friend? None other than the fabulous and trailblazing Tastemade. The very friendly, very encouraging, and very innovative folks over at Tastemade have welcomed me with open arms into their new mobile app called (you guessed it) …Tastemade!

You may recall Tastemade from their tremendously successful YouTube channel.

The Tastemade app allows you to highlight and share your favorite restaurants with a 1-minute video. Their video template guides you through user-friendly shooting and editing directly from your phone. I’m far from tech savvy and had a smooth/fun time creating my video.

Remember that when you’re dining out, it can be near impossible to eat strict, squeaky-clean Paleo. My advice will get you close enough to Paleo so that you can avoid both feeling deprived and the regrettable gluten bloat.

Okay, enough reading. Time for you to watch and listen! I hope you enjoy my video.

Paleo off the Menu: Contemporary Italian @ Paesanos

Here’s a menu recap!

I started off with this S.A. Style Jalapeno Martini. I’m a sucker for anything with lime, jalapeno, and tequila. Thank goodness I live in San Antonio. Paesanos makes all their cocktails with agave syrup, so I asked that they sub with honey. Although alcohol isn’t included on a strict Paleo plan, I include it in my meal when dining out. It’s about creating a lifestyle you love!

Next, we ordered the Angus Sirloin Carpaccio with a Pickled Shitake Salad. It typically comes with shaved parmesan and a creamy dressing. I asked that they hold both.

For the main course, I consulted Paesanos’ Gluten-Free Menu. I ordered their Watercress, Arugula, Jicima, and Crispy Prosciutto Salad with a hunk of salmon on top. I asked that they hold the blue cheese crumbles and gorgonzola dressing, opting for fresh lemon juice instead. Tasty business.

You can expect regular “Paleo off the Menu” posts here on my blog. However, if you want a sneak peek of the action, then I suggest you download the Tastemade app, create a profile, and find me @fedandfit! In fact, I suggest you do it right this instant. It’s FREE, after all!
