Tips and Tricks
- Don’t worry about coring your apples or peeling the lemon. Not only does this make prep super easy, but you’ll extract all the flavors from all parts of the fruits.
- Use a spatula or potato masher to mash the mixture after it finishes cooking to get all of the juices out before straining.
- Spiced apple cider is meant to be a “cloudier” beverage, so don’t worry about straining out all of the pulp. You’ll get more flavor there too!
- Use a variety of apples, like pink and green, to get different flavor notes and build complexity.
- Use whole spices during the cooking process to get the full depth of flavor from the spice.
