This air fryer pork tenderloin is BIG on flavor and takes less than 30 minutes to pull together!

Sliced, spiced pork tenderloin on an epicurean cutting board.

You can! This recipe was actually created for Cassy’s third book, Cook Once Dinner Fix, as a traditional, oven-baked pork tenderloin – it’s actually my favorite meal in the book! When Cassy was noodling on the recipe for this air fryer pork tenderloin (Should it be marinated? Or would a dry rub be better?), my mind immediately went to this heavily seasoned stunner of a pork tenderloin recipe! Though the seasoning is the same, the cooking method is totally different – it’s less involved and still absolutely delicious!

Air Fried Pork Tenderloin Ingredients

Here’s what you’ll need for this recipe. If you want to make more than one pork tenderloin at a time (meal prep, anyone?!), feel free to double or even triple the seasoning recipe.

How To Cook Pork Tenderloin in Air Fryer

The process is every bit as easy as it sounds – the hardest part is simply measuring and mixing the spices! Step-by-step directions:

Hand pouring plate of spices into a glass bowl.
Spiced pork tenderloin being placed into an air fryer basket with a pair of tongs.
Hand coating pork tenderloins in spices in a glass bowl.
Air fried pork tenderloin in air fryer basket.
  1. Preheat – preheat the air fryer to 400°F.
  2. Whisk together the spices – in a small bowl, stir together the chili powder, brown sugar, oregano, paprika, cinnamon, garlic powder, and salt.
  3. Rub – rub the spice mixture over the pork tenderloin.
  4. Drizzle with olive oil – drizzle the pork tenderloin with olive oil, and then pat the spices and olive oil onto the tenderloin so that it forms a paste.
  5. Air fry – air fry the pork tenderloin for 16-17 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 145°F.
  6. Let rest – let the cooked pork rest for 5 minutes.
  7. Serve and enjoy!

Can you cook a pork tenderloin from frozen in an air fryer?

What a great question! I haven’t actually tried it, but a quick Google search says YES, YOU CAN! You won’t be able to rub your pork tenderloin with the spice rub (it won’t stick if the pork is frozen), but you can absolutely still cook a pork tenderloin from frozen if you’re in a pinch. My recommendation would be starting at 25 minutes, and checking the pork tenderloin doneness from there (adding more time if needed). If you still want to season your pork tenderloin, remove it halfway through cooking, rub with seasoning, then cook for the remaining time.

How long do you cook a frozen tenderloin in the air fryer?

See above! I’d start with 25 minutes at 400°F and add 2-3 minutes at a time (if needed) from there.

How does the time or temperature change for cooking sliced pork tenderloin in air fryer?

This recipe calls for cooking the pork tenderloin whole, then slicing after cooking. We recommend this cooking method to maintain the most moisture in the meat.

Cooked this tonight and it was delicious and easy! I had two 1 lb pork tenderloins so I doubled the recipe and had to add about 5 minutes of cooking. I also think it needed a little extra salt to draw out the flavors. I’ll definitely be cooking this again!

  2. I have a round air fryer and since Pork tenderloin is so long do you think it would make a difference if I cut the pork tenderloin in half and put 2 1/2s in my small around air fryer?

First Time AirFryer User – this recipe is delicious. So glad I gave it a go. My tongue is still tingly with tender pork tenderloin tastes! Will 100% make again. And again.

Our new weeknight go to! This was so good that we at it last night and I woke up thinking about it this morning.

I accidentally overcooked it and it still came out juicy and delicious. 10/10 from our three littles, too!

    1. That is so great to hear, Sally! Thank you so much for taking the time to share with us. We’re so glad that this was a hit for the entire family! -Team FF

  5. I don’t have an air fryer. Can I use the oven? How long would I cook it at 400 degrees?

    1. Hi Jill! When roasting in the oven, we recommended searing first in a pan for 3-4 minutes per side, then transferring to a 425F oven for 15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 145F. Enjoy! -Team FF

  6. This was really good, but it took waaaay longer than 16 minutes in my air fryer. I cooked it at 400, but had to add 10 minutes about 4 more times 🙁

    1. Oh no! We haven’t run into that problem with this recipe and are so sorry that you did! The cook time will definitely vary if it is a really thick pork tenderloin. -Team FF

I just made this. WOW so easy to do and amazingly flavorful, juicy and delicious! I used two 1 pound tenderloins, so increased the olive oil a bit to make the rub easier to get all over them. They were fresh out of the fridge cold and pretty thick in the middle so ended up going for 22 minutes total. Amazing!!! Will definitely be keeping this recipe to make again.
