Welcome to our “Get to Know” series! Each Tuesday (for the next year), we’re going to introduce you to a creator in the wellness space that we think you NEED to know. The creators we feature are of various backgrounds. Whether they’re an online content creator, coach, or owner of a product-based brand, they each have their own niche in the wellness world and contribute to the space, as a whole, in an incredibly meaningful way. We’re setting this up Q&A-style so that you can learn more about each creator’s why, the content that they’re most proud of, and exactly how you can be a part of and contribute to their journey. We hope you enjoy our conversations with these wonderful people and brands. We know they’re going to enrich your lives!

This week, we’re interviewing Kiesha Yokers of Green + Well. Kiesha said, “at Green + Well, I teach you real self-care strategies to remove the toxic garbage out of your life through breathwork, clean beauty, mental health, real food, healthy relationships, rest and fun.” Follow along as we learn more about Kiesha:

Why did you start your business?

Kiesha: I started Green + Well as a wellness space for women who wanted to get rid of toxins where they could. I soon realized the word toxic applies to so much more than products.

What is toxic? Unhealthy relationships with people and food, neglecting mental health, denying your body rest, the list goes on. Wellness should be accessible to EVERYONE. I’m the girlfriend who will walk with you in a non-judgmental way as we breathe, grow, and heal together.

At Green + Well, I teach you real self-care strategies to remove the toxic garbage out of your life through breathwork, clean beauty, mental health, real food, healthy relationships, rest and fun.

This is how I define G+W; a truly inclusive wellness lifestyle.

What’s your mission/purpose statement?

Kiesha: To help women navigate and thrive in their unique wellness lifestyle journey. To represent BIWOC {Black Indigenous Women of Color} and create more space at the table of wellness for the underrepresented.

What 2 (or 3!) pieces of content are you the proudest of?

Kiesha:

  • The moment that Michelle Obama spotlighted my work during Women’s History Month. This was an extraordinary moment in my life. Not sure how you top it.☺
  • Breathwork. It is so transformative. It’s a practice like yoga or meditation, and the benefits are both immediate and long-term. I offer free breathwork tips that you can build into your life right now.
  • Sharing my story as a military wife and women of color, working to lower toxic load through safer products. I also offer low-tox product guides for women who want the scoop on which brands to trust, from beauty to personal care products to homewares. Women are B-U-S-Y, and I am here to make it easy!

Where are you going next? What’s your goal for the next year?

Kiesha: Teaching more breathwork classes and working with one on one clients. Breathwork is mind-blowing. What it has done for me and my lifelong struggle with anxiety is remarkable.

We are living through a pandemic, lovelies. To push and push like life is normal is my definition of crazy. We need to build our emotional and physical reserves up. Self-care isn’t a luxury; it’s a necessity. I can be a better, more present human by slowing down and prioritizing my amazing body that does so much for me. The least I can do for it is be generous to it

How can we (and the Fed and Fit community) best support you?

Kiesha:

  1. I would be so grateful if you would join me on Instagram for breathwork sessions in under five minutes, non-toxic living tips, and self-care for more rest and more joy. There may be a bit of mom style, and some 90’s dance moves cause mamas still got it!
  2. I would love it if you would join my email list for a deeper dive and check out the blog where we the how-to’s of a wellness lifestyle with some fun, food, fashion, and moments of sanity for bad-ass women. You can also sign-up for private and group breathwork sessions.
