Welcome to our โGet to Knowโ series! Each Tuesday (for the next year), weโre going to introduce you to a creator in the wellness space that we think you NEED to know. The creators we feature are of various backgrounds. Whether theyโre an online content creator, coach, or owner of a product-based brand, they each have their own niche in the wellness world and contribute to the space, as a whole, in an incredibly meaningful way. Weโre setting this up Q&A-style so that you can learn more about each creatorโs why, the content that theyโre most proud of, and exactly how you can be a part of and contribute to their journey. We hope you enjoy our conversations with these wonderful people and brands. We know theyโre going to enrich your lives!
This week, weโre interviewing Sharon Allen of GirlEatsTexas. Sharon said, โchefs will always say โyou’re only as good as your last mealโ and unfortunately it’s a saying I live by. I want to feel great about every single plate I put out into the world.โ Follow along as we learn more about Sharon:
Why did you start your business?
Sharon: I started content and recipe creating when I realized I could monetize a hobby I was already enjoying. The more people complimented the dishes I was creating the more I was intrigued and eventually GirlEatsTexas was born. Even now it’s hard to consider it a “business” because I truly wake up everyday excited to do what I love.
Whatโs your mission/purpose statement?
Sharon: Hungry. It’s really that simple. I’m always thinking of the next meal. That and encouraging people to create meals of their own, to utilize leftovers and reduce waste. I’m big on sustainability
What 2 (or 3!) pieces of content are you the proudest of?
Sharon: I recently began a partnership with a wonderful winery where I pair wines with dishes. It’s a big collaboration and I’m so proud of it. Chefs will always say “you’re only as good as your last meal” and unfortunately it’s a saying I live by. I want to feel great about every single plate I put out into the world.
Where are you going next? Whatโs your goal for the next year?
Sharon: I want to get to the point where I have steady, manageable work. I have no grand dreams of fame and fortune, just abundance, stability, health and happiness. I am so thankful for what I have now. All I can ask is to continue to build on it and move forward.
How can we (and the Fed and Fit community) best support you?
Sharon: Following on both Facebook and Instagram! And don’t just follow, engage! Inspiration and motivation comes in all forms and just encouragement and knowing people care and are following along means so much!
