Welcome to our “Get to Know” series! Each Tuesday (for the next year), we’re going to introduce you to a creator in the wellness space that we think you NEED to know. The creators we feature are of various backgrounds. Whether they’re an online content creator, coach, or owner of a product-based brand, they each have their own niche in the wellness world and contribute to the space, as a whole, in an incredibly meaningful way. We’re setting this up Q&A-style so that you can learn more about each creator’s why, the content that they’re most proud of, and exactly how you can be a part of and contribute to their journey. We hope you enjoy our conversations with these wonderful people and brands. We know they’re going to enrich your lives!

This week, we’re interviewing Taneisha of The Seasoned Skillet. Taneisha creates amazing Caribbean and fusion dishes (along with so many other stellar recipes!), and believes that finding balance in life is the key to wellness! Follow along as we learn more about Taneisha:

Why did you start your business?

Taneisha: I started The Seasoned Skillet as a creative outlet, a way to document my kitchen adventures in a centralized space for myself to look back on, and others to enjoy. Food, like travel, has always been a way of creating memories and I wanted to be intentional about sharing those memories with whomever found interest in it. My intentions were to “just start” and see where it would take me. I knew nothing about this industry, nothing about how to run a food blog, how to take food pictures, or even how to earn a dollar. But, I started and it’s been one of the best decisions made to date!

What’s your mission/purpose statement?

Taneisha: My purpose is to share recipes that are approachable, comforting, and wholesome. I truly believe balance is key in life, and that certainly translates to what we feed our bodies with as well.

What 2 (or 3!) pieces of content are you the proudest of?

Taneisha: Ouu! Hmm, let me think! I have too many favourites, but I’m particularly proud of my Browned Butter Skor Toffee Cookies, BBQ Pulled Chicken Sandwiches (Slow Cooker Style), and my Jamaican Saltfish Fritters (Stamp & Go). Each represents a significant milestone, holds a special memory in my heart, and are all reader favourites!

Where are you going next? What’s your goal for the next year?

Taneisha: My goal is to always spread love and light in whatever space I occupy. For The Seasoned Skillet this means continuing to share new recipes, resources and content that will help my readers live “their best lives”, and feel great while doing so! I have so much planned for The Seasoned Skillet, this is only the beginning! I also believe in the power of spoken words, so… Cookbook & Kitchenware Loading!

How can we (and the Fed and Fit community) best support you?

Taneisha: I would love for you to join The Seasoned Skillet community, by signing up and subscribing to our monthly newsletters at www.seasonedskilletblog.com, as well as engaging in the comments section under recipes, and leaving a star rating. You can also find me on Instagram (@theseasoned.skillet), Pinterest, and Facebook, I would love to meet and connect with you on any of these platforms!
