Welcome to our “Get to Know” series! Each Tuesday (for the next year), we’re going to introduce you to a creator in the wellness space that we think you NEED to know. The creators we feature are of various backgrounds. Whether they’re an online content creator, coach, or owner of a product-based brand, they each have their own niche in the wellness world and contribute to the space, as a whole, in an incredibly meaningful way. We’re setting this up Q&A-style so that you can learn more about each creator’s why, the content that they’re most proud of, and exactly how you can be a part of and contribute to their journey. We hope you enjoy our conversations with these wonderful people and brands. We know they’re going to enrich your lives!

This week, we’re interviewing Britney of Britney Breaks Bread. Britney “allow[s] [her] adventures to guide [her] inspiration in the kitchen, [her] recipes are a fun mix of quick recipes including sweet and savory dishes all the way to decadent desserts.” Follow along as we learn more about Britney:

Why did you start your business?

Britney: I started my blog because I needed a creative outlet. At its inception, I had just begun working remotely and spent a lot of time in the house cooking. I would record my cooking in my Instagram stories on my personal page and a lot of people would contact me and ask for my recipes. So, I decided to make Britney Breaks Bread. I don’t think that I had any specific reasoning other than this, but I was beyond shocked as to how quickly my Instagram page grew so I decided to start a blog and begin to record everything in one central location.

What’s your mission/purpose statement?

Britney: The purpose of my blog is to make recipes that everyone can enjoy. I like to make recipes and mix ingredients that you don’t typically find together but compliment each other in a way that makes your taste buds say “OMG this is amazing!”. I have a nice mix of recipes on the blog – from gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian to baked goods, quick weeknight meals, and keto recipes. At the end of the day, I want everyone to come to my blog and find something for themselves. As someone who is a bit of a picky eater, inclusivity in my recipes is SO important to me.

What 2 (or 3!) pieces of content are you the proudest of?

Britney: This is such a difficult question because I feel like every recipe is my baby! If I have to pick two or three, it would have to be my Blood Orange Ricotta Pie, Honey Za’atar Chicken with Chickpeas, and Spiced Rum Mango Cobbler No-Churn Ice Cream.. Oh and if I could add just one more, my 20 minute Summer Cajun Orzo with Kielbasa

Where are you going next? What’s your goal for the next year?

Britney: A Holiday eBook! This book will be released in November just in time for all of your holiday dinner parties! I will be devoting a large chunk of my time to this and I am so excited to share my favorite holiday recipes with everyone! The recipes included will be exclusive to the eBook and will not be on my blog.

My goal for next year is to continue to grow and learn in this industry. I want to be able to sustain myself and my family from my blog because this is my true passion. That is my prayer for next year – to monetize my blog and quit my full time job and dedicate myself to this 100%. *fingers crossed*

How can we (and the Fed and Fit community) best support you?

Britney: Please subscribe to my emails at www.britneybreaksbread.com! In my emails, I send my recipes and some fun articles that I have begun spotlighting my favorite kitchen items and recipe roundups etc. Also, if you subscribe, you’ll get first access to my eBook! Also, follow on me Instagram/Facebook/Pinterest and cook with me there!
