This gingerbread creamer has all of the warm, cozy vibes that we expect from classic gingerbread spices, a few creamy, delicious ingredients (like whole milk and heavy cream), maple syrup to sweeten, and vanilla extract to bring out a bit of extra rich flavor. It’s the most delicious addition to your morning (or afternoon) cup of joe any time of year, but especially during winter months, and is really yummy with both iced or hot coffee.
If you’re looking for more coffee recipes, we’ve got a handful! Gingerbread Creamer Recipe Ingredients
Several warm spices and a handful of other ingredients are all you’ll need for this recipe. Find ingredient notes (including substitutions and swaps) below.
- Heavy cream – we chose to add heavy cream into this recipe (vs. all milk) because it really helps to thicken the creamer and, truly, give it that creamy texture that we all expect from a coffee creamer. That said, you can absolutely use all milk if you’d like.
- Maple syrup – maple syrup is the perfect natural sweetener for this recipe, but know that you can swap it for honey instead, if you’d like!
A full ingredient list with exact amounts can be found in the recipe card below.
Recipe Variations and Modifications
- Swap the milks – as mentioned above, we chose part heavy cream and part whole milk for this recipe, but you can truly use whatever you have on hand. All half and half would work, as would part heavy cream and part skim milk.
- Adjust the sweetness – use more or less maple syrup to sweeten the creamer to your liking!
- Make it dairy-free – swap both the whole milk and heavy cream for canned coconut milk or a dairy-free heavy cream (or half and half) substitute. Califia Farms, Nutpods, and Silk all have their own versions that look to be really yummy!
- Make it grain-free – this recipe is grain-free as is!
- Make it gluten-free – this recipe is also gluten-free as written.
How to Make Gingerbread Coffee Creamer
This recipe is incredibly easy to make! Follow along below.
Step 1: Add the heavy cream, whole milk, maple syrup, vanilla extract, ground ginger, cinnamon, allspice, cardamom, nutmeg, ground cloves, and salt to a mason jar (or any jar with an airtight lid).
Step 2: Secure the lid onto the jar and shake until well combined.
Step 3: Store the creamer in a jar, and when you’re ready to enjoy, simply add to your iced coffee, hot coffee, or espresso.
Step 4: Top your drink with whipped cream, if you’d like, and enjoy!
Recipe Tips
Because this creamer is homemade and does not contain any stabilizers, give it a good shake before pouring it into your coffee to combine any separation.
How to Serve
Serve your creamer with hot or iced coffee, and for the most coffee shop-like experience, be sure to dollop whipped cream (regular homemade whipped cream or dairy-free whipped cream) on top, followed by a sprinkle of cinnamon (or cinnamon sugar), if you’d like!
How to Store
Store the creamer in an airtight jar (think: mason jar) in the fridge. As far as how long you can store it goes, you’ll want to look at the labels on both your heavy cream and whole milk to see their expiration dates – keep your creamer in an airtight container in the fridge until you reach the nearest expiration date.

Gingerbread is the perfect combination of sweet and spicy! Not the kind of spicy that sets your mouth on fire, but instead, a warm mixture of winter spices like ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, allspice, and nutmeg.
